Medical Director
The Professionals Resource Network is excited to introduce you to our new Medical Director and CEO, Michael John Sorna, MD, MSA, FASAM. Dr. Sorna comes to us with a wealth of training and practice that makes him the ideal choice to lead PRN and the professionals we serve into the future. He was a faculty member at UF Health, where he was the Director of Addiction Services at the Jacksonville Campus and the Medical Director of the UF Health Jacksonville Leon L. Haley Jr. M.D. Brain Wellness Program, a program that treats Veterans and First Responders with mild to moderate TBI and associated mental wellness and substance use conditions. He was on the Board of Directors for PRN from 2020-2024. He did his residency and fellowship at Emory University and is board certified in Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and Addiction Medicine (ABPM). He is a former Naval Aviator (pilot) and retired Army Officer (Colonel) having served nearly continuously since his original commission in 1988. He has numerous deployments including to Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Kosovo. He remains active in the veteran community. He has been married to his wife Betty for 27 years and has 4 children, 2 grandchildren, and a Pug named Lulu.
